Srinagar: Kashmir Valley logged below-normal temperatures on the night between Friday and Saturday, with the Met Office stating that dry weather is expected from June 9-17, though the possibility of light rain or thunderstorms cannot be ruled out.
According to details shared by the Met Office, the Kashmir capital, Srinagar, recorded a low of 12.1°C, compared to 12.0°C on the previous night, which is 1.3°C below normal.
Qazigund recorded a minimum temperature of 11.6°C, compared to 10.5°C on the previous night, which is 0.4°C below normal for the gateway town of the valley.
Pahalgam recorded a low of 7.2°C, compared to 7.0°C on the previous night, which is 0.2°C above normal for the famous resort in south Kashmir.
Kokernag, also in south Kashmir, recorded a minimum of 11.2°C, compared to 9.8°C on the previous night, which is 1.0°C below normal, according to the official.
Gulmarg recorded a minimum of 3.4°C, compared to 3.8°C on the previous night, which is 5.3°C below normal for the world-famous skiing resort in north Kashmir.
Kupwara recorded a low of 10.5°C, compared to 10.7°C on the previous night, which is 1.2°C below normal for the area.
Jammu recorded a low of 24.1°C, compared to 22.7°C on the previous night, which is 1.6°C above normal.
Pir Panchal’s Banihal recorded a low of 14.2°C, and Chenab Valley’s Bhaderwah logged 14.4°C.
