Srinagar: The authorities will exhume the body of a baby to conduct a DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid) test after a family from central Kashmir’s Budgam district alleged that the hospital has switched the child and a female baby’s body was given instead of the male baby at JVC Bemina.
An official said that the body of the baby will be exhumed today to conduct DNA sampling and match that with those of the family members.
“Since the family has leveled allegations against the hospital authorities for exchanging their baby it was decided to exhume the body to conduct DNA so that truth shall come to the fore,” he said.
The official said that body will be exhumed in the presence of a medical team from JVC, family members, and some independent witnesses.
Notably, last week a family from the Patlibagh area Budgam alleged that they were given the body of a female baby instead of a male baby.
