Srinagar, 28 February 2025 — With Ramadan approaching, the Anjuman Auqaf Jama Masjid (AAJ) has urged authorities to ensure unrestricted religious gathering and smooth observance of prayers at Srinagar’s historic Jamia Masjid.

The organisation also expressed hope that Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir, Dr Molvi Mohammad Umar Farooq, would be allowed to fulfill his religious duties without restrictions.

Devotees gathered at the Jama Masjid spoke about the need for uninterrupted access to the mosque.

“We come here for spiritual guidance. It is important that our places of worship remain open and accessible during this holy month,” said Bilal Ahmad, a resident of Hawal.
