Hours after US president Joe Biden left Israel for Saudi Arabia, Israel carried out airstrikes on the Gaza Strip late Friday night, according to the Israeli military.
Israel said it launched strikes against an underground storage facility that served as a “Hamas weapons manufacturing site.”
"IDF (Israel Defence Forces) jets struck a military site of Hamas terrorist organization in the central Gaza Strip,” a statement from the Israel Defense Forces said.

Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that the missiles were fired near a tourist resort in Sheikh Ijjileen, southwest of Gaza City and damaged several homes and a nearby gas station, but there were no casualties, according to Palestinian sources.
The Israel defense also said it was a response to rockets fired into parts of southern Israel Friday night.
Israel said it intercepted one of the rockets, and the others landed in open fields. However, no Palestinian group has claimed responsibility for the attack, but Israel blames Hamas.
Whereas, Hamas (Palestinian militant group) condemned Biden’s visit to Israel and Saudi Arabia and said Israel’s policies have US support.
Hamas has ruled the Gaza Strip for about 15 years and all these years Israel put a blockade on the territory.
Biden was on a four-day tour to the Middle East which started on Wednesday, his coming was a celebration of growing ties with more Arab countries through the Abraham Accords.
The US President spent 46 hours in Israel and three hours in the west bank with Palestinian Authority President, Mahmoud Abbas and announced more than $300 million for Palestinian hospitals and refugees.
He left for Saudi Arabia on Friday. During the visit, Saudi Arabia opened its air space to Israeli aircraft.
