Nablus, West bank 19 February— Israeli authorities have seized a plot of land northwest of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank for a new settlement road, Safa reported.
Mohammad Azem, head of the Joint Services Council for villages in the area, confirmed that Israeli occupation forces issued a notice to seize half a dunam (0.25 acres) from the towns of Sebastia, Al-Naqoura, and Deir Sharaf.
This land will be used for constructing a road to serve a newly established illegal settler outpost in the region.
The outpost, which began in mid-2023 with a single tent, has since expanded to include several mobile homes.
Azem stated, "This land seizure is just the latest in a series of steps to expand illegal settlement activity in the area."
The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission reported that in January alone, settlers attempted to establish ten new outposts in the West Bank.
These were primarily intended for agricultural and grazing purposes, with four in Tubas, three in Nablus, and additional outposts in Qalqilya, Ramallah, and Bethlehem.
In total, Israeli authorities seized 262 dunams (65 acres) of land across the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, during the same period.
