Israel Intelligence ‘Summons’ Al Aqsa Mosque Imam

Al-Aqsa Mosque Imam, Sheikh Ekrima Sabri (85), has been ‘summoned’ by the Israeli intelligence on Sunday with his lawyers saying he was called for ‘interrogation’ at the Maskubiya Police Station in West Jerusalem.

In a brief statement, Lawyer Hamza Qatnieh said that the Israeli intelligence is issuing an indictment against Mr. Sabri.

“Sheikh Sabri has been before the target of a systematic incitement campaign by Israeli media and right-wing groups,” it said.

In recent years, Sheikh Sabri was arrested many times before, banned from preaching at Al-Aqsa Mosque for months and banned from travelling abroad also, prevented from communicating with Palestinian personalities inside Israel, it added.
