Srinagar: Religious scholars and preachers across Kashmir on Sunday
Condemned the killing of a Kashmiri Pandit in Chandergund, Shopian, and termed the attack as barbaric and against basic tenets Of Islam.
The religious scholars, including Imams and Khateebs while quoting quranic verses said that the “killing any innocent amounts to killing of entire humanity and that the killing of a Kashmiri Pandit at Shopian should be thoroughly investigated.
On Saturday, militants shot dead a KP, Pooran Krishan Bhat, a resident of Chandergund, Shopian outside his house.
His body was taken to Jammu for last rites.
Local Muslim neighbors flooded Bhat’s house to offer condolences and to express solidarity with the bereaved family.
"Islam doesn’t allow the killing of any innocent. The incident should be thoroughly investigated and those guilty should be punished,” said Kashmir’s Grand Mufti, Nasir ul Islam.
Moreover, Karwan-e-Islami Patron Alama Sheikh Ghulam Rasool Hami said that the killing of KP in Shopian deserves all forms of condemnation.
“Maximum condemnation should pour in against this inhuman act. Islam doesn’t support any such action. Kashmir is a land of Sufis, reshi, and munis who have never supported or justified innocent killings. We as a collective and responsible society strongly condemn the incident,” Hami said.
Several Ulema, Khateebs, and Imams from all districts of Kashmir unitedly condemned the killing of the Kashmiri pandit in Shopian.
It is pertinent to mention that as per police, a proxy unknown militant outfit ‘Kashmir Freedom Fighter’ has claimed responsibility for the attack.
