Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) is one of the flagship programmes of the Government of India which provides nutritional meals, preschool education, primary healthcare, immunization, health check-up and referral services to children under 6 years of age and their mothers.
Concerned councillor, Irfan Ali also found insects in the rice after visiting the centres and directed the authorities to probe the issue.
Mohsin Mushtaq, CDPO said that the matter will be looked into and the grains will be changed.
โThere are guidelines from the government that we cannot provide dry grains to children and instead it should be given to them at the concerned school centres, thatโs why the rice got affected,โ he said.
"The fresh supply will be given to the centres," he added.
An In charge of the centre said untimely distribution of the monthly ration has led to the ruin of the rice as it has been stored here for months. ย
