Poonch: Army on Sunday said that an intruder was killed and two others were apprehended as an infiltration bid was foiled on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday along Line of Control in Pir Panjal’s Poonch district.
As per army, the two injured intruders are the residents of Maidan Mohalla, village Chanjal in Pakistan Controlled Kashmir.
In a statement, army said that a suspicious movement of a group (three individuals) close to the Line of Control was apprehended and at around midnight the group, crossed the Line of Control and started infiltrating towards this side.
“The intruders started to run away, were engaged by fire, in which one intruder was shot dead, while two others managed to run into the forests,” reads the statement.
The area was immediately cordoned to prevent their escape across the Line of Control, it said.
“The dead body of one intruder was recovered at the encounter site. As the search progressed, one intruder was apprehended alive in wounded condition. In the subsequent search the third intruder was also apprehended alive,” it reads.
Moreover, three bags with fourteen packets of Narcotics weighing approx 17 kgs, Pakistan currency, some documents, and eatables have been recovered from their possession, it added.
