Srinagar: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Vijay Kumar on Tuesday met the Kashmiri Pandits protestors in central Kashmir’s Budgam over the killing of the migrant government employees Rahul Bhat and urged them not to leave Kashmir as the "same was the plan of Militants and their masters across that has to be foiled by all means".
Mr. Vijay assured the cohort of Kashmiri Pandits of "better and enhanced security cover in the days ahead
Addressing a group of Kashmiri Pandits in Sheikhpora area of Centra Kashmir’s Budgam, the top cop promised end of militancy within next one year.
"Pakistan wants you to fear Militants, leaving Kashmir would fullfill their aim," IGP told kashmiri pandits.
Reportedly, Kashmiri Pandits across J&K have been demanding adminstration to re-settle them outside Kashmir valley as they fear for their lives.
“We need not to fear. We have to make our country proud. Don’t fear, this is what Pakistan wants," he said during the address.
"I am assuring you that within one year, this fear will be completely eliminated”. Within a year, he said, “their numbers will reduce to below 50.”
The IGP said that entire police force shares the pain at the loss of “our brother”.
"So many police officials make sacrifices here but they or their families don’t leave Kashmir," he said.
"Such incidents may happen but we need not to fear," he added.
Later he visited Vissu Kulgam and Mattan Anantnag where he reiterated that security shall be ensured to all the Kashmiri pandits.
He listened to the various suggestions put forth by Kashmiri Pandits and assured them redressal within shortest possible time.
