Sopore: Police on Friday said they arrested a ‘Hybrid’ of Lashkar-i-Toiba armed group in North Kashmir’s Sopore.
‘Hybrid’ term was coined by Police last year, which as per police are people who carry out attacks like sleeper cells and live a normal life within the society.
He has been identified as Saqib Shakeel Dar, son of Shakeel Ahmad Dar and a resident of Mumkak Batpora. His age was not mentioned in the police statement.

Moreover, a pistol, was also recovered from his possession, as per police.
“Today at a check post laid by Sopore police along with 22 RR army, 179/BN CRPF at Shangergund crossing; suspicious movement of a person coming from village Check Brath link road towards Sopore-Kupwara general road was noticed,” Police briefs in the statement.
“He was asked to stop, but he tried to flee from the spot, however was tactfully apprehended by the forces,” the statement reads.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused is working as a hybrid militant of organization LeT and was in a constant search of an opportunity to carry out attacks on security forces and civilians. More recoveries are expected,” the statement said.
Accordingly case has been registered under relevant sections of law at Police station Sopore and investigation taken up, reads the statement.
