Srinagar Police announced the arrest of a ‘hybrid’ militant associated with The Resistance Front (TRF) in the Batamaloo area of Srinagar city on Thursday.
The arrested individual has been identified as Mohd Yawar Rangrez, son of Abdul Rashid Rangeez, and a resident of Firdousabad in Batmaloo. His age wasn’t disclosed by the police.
In a statement posted on social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, Srinagar Police shared the details of the arrest: "A Hybrid (Terrorist) of TRF, namely Mohd Yawar Rangrez, son of Abdul Rashid Rangeez, and a resident of Firdousabad, Batmaloo, was apprehended by Srinagar Police with one hand grenade. The case has been registered under FIR no 37/2023 at Kothibagh Police Station."
