Srinagar: An elderly man was killed in a hit-and-run accident in the Nowgam area of Srinagar outskirts.
An official said that the deceased, identified as Ghulam Rasool Sofi, and a resident of the Ganderpora area of Eidgah in Srinagar.
“He went missing from his residence on Thursday morning and a missing report was filed at Safa Kadal Police Station,” said the official.
Simultaneously, the authorities of Nowgam Police Station recovered his body near Tengan Crossing earlier this morning, he said.
“Preliminary investigations indicated that the deceased had been fatally struck by a vehicle during the intervening night,” the official said.
Moreover, police have filed a case while investigation into the matter has been started.
