Former Minister, Ex MLA Marh and chairman, Panchayati Raj Cell, BJP JK UT, Sukhnandan Kumar Choudhary took a jibe at the government today over the step motherly treatment with the people residing in rural areas.
In a press statement, the politician shows strong resentment against a recent order of the government in which the administration directed to repair all the damaged transformers within 8 hours in urban areas while 48 hours in rural areas.
He took strong exception of the order and asked the administration to eradicate such partiality with rural citizens of J&K “citizens living in the rural areas need more electricity as 72% of the population resides there.”
“At present, there is dire need of electricity in rural areas as the paddy sowing season is about to start ,if administration can repair transformers in 8 hours for urban area then why it takes 48 hours for rural area, are they not human ? Or the administration thinks that they are the children of lesser god?”
Such kind of attitude towards border belt people will not be tolerated at any cost", he added.
Furthermore, he also puts question mark on the vaccination drive which is going on between 18 to 45 years category. “The administration has set 28th May as vaccination day for registered construction workers, Can’t the government pay heed to the farming community, Can’t they be treated as workers who are working ruthlessly hard during the second wave of Covid19, These people have been denied jab at vaccination centers. Doesn’t play with the sentiments of farming community who work hard in fields so that the whole nation can eat," he added.
“Instead of denying vaccination to farming community, the government should arrange a proper vaccination drive at their door steps.”
He once again appeals the UT Administration to treat the rural population at par with urban people and provide the equal opportunities.
