Samba: A fresh ceasefire violation has rocked Jammu’s Samba district, leaving a Border Security Force (BSF) trooper injured and causing panic among the local residents.
Official sources confirmed the violation, stating that the fire started during midnight hours with shelling of small arms and mortars being reported.
“The cross border firing lasted for hours leading to injuries of a BSF man who has been hospitalised,” an official source said.

In a statement, BSF informed that Pakistani rangers restored to unprovoked firing in Ramgarh area on the intervening night of November 8, 9 which was befittingly responded by BSF troops, reads the statement.
Earlier, India and Pakistan held flag meeting, where a delegation from the Border Security Force (BSF) strongly protested against the unprovoked firing by Pakistan Rangers in the Arnia area. The violation which occurred during the night of October 26 and 27, 2023, resulted in injuries to civilians and two BSF troopers.
Reportedly, following numerous civilian casualties and extensive damage to property on both sides, the BSF and Pakistani Rangers had agreed to maintain a ceasefire along the Line of Control in February 2021.
