Ganderbal: Four tourists from Southern India’s Kerala were killed when their vehicle skidded off the road, plunging into a deep gorge in a road accident at Zojila Pass, situated in the central Kashmir district of Ganderbal.
Zojila Pass, known for its towering and icy peaks, acts as a natural border, separating the Kashmir valley from Kargil. The treacherous terrain and steep cliffs make the pass a challenging route for travelers.
Four tourists from Kerala and two others sustained injuries in the accident, with a police official quoted by news agency KNO.
The injured were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital, he said.
"One of the injured persons was in critical condition and was later referred to SKIMS Soura for advanced medical care," he added.
The identities of the deceased and the injured have not been disclosed at the time of this report."
