Anantnag: Four militants were killed in two separate encounters (military operations) in south Kashmir; three including a Pakistani militant were killed at the Khandipora area of Awantipora in Pulwama district while an unidentified militant was killed in an ongoing encounter at Semthan village of Bijbhera in Anantnag district on Tuesday, police said.
“01 #terrorist killed in #Bijbehara encounter. Operation going on,” Police tweeted.
Meanwhile, a police official said that the identity and affiliation of the slain were being ascertained.
About the Awantipora encounter, police identified one as a Pakistani and another as a local militant namely Mukhtiyar Bhat. However, other details haven’t been revealed yet.
“03 terrorists killed in Awantipora encounter. Identification being ascertained. As per our source, 1 is FT & 1 local terrorist of LeT namely Mukhtiyar Bhat, involved in several terror crimes including the killing of 01 ASI of CRPF & 2 RPF personnel. A big success for us," police tweeted.
