Srinagar: Veteran Unionist, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Farooq Abdullah on sunday said they may have to offer similar sacrifices like Indian farmers to get back the rights snatched by the Centre.
Addressing party workers in the mausoleum of Shiekh Abdullah at Hazratbal Graveyard on the death anniversary of Shiekh, Farooq said “All of you have to be steadfast. Centre repealed farm laws after the sacrifices of 700 farmers. We may also have to offer similar sacrifices to get back the rights that have been snatched from us by the Centre."
Hundreds of NC (National Conference) workers and leaders assembled in Hazratbal to pay tributes to the Party’s Founder on this death anniversary.
‘Tourism is not everything in Kashmir’ Farooq jibed on Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s recent statement that post abrogation of Article 370, J&K is witnessing peace and tourism.
He said that it was after massive resistance by Srinagar families that bodies of the two slain civillians killed in Hyderpora were returned to families.
“The body of the third innocent is yet to be handed over to his family in Udhampur,” he added.
He asked party men to start public outreach programs and stay connected with people in every village and locality across Kashmir.
