Five Foreign Militants Killed Along LOC In Kupwara: Police

Srinagar: Five foreign militants were killed in an encounter (military operation) with government forces near the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara district of North Kashmir on Friday, police said.

The encounter started early morning after government forces launched an operation based on a specific input in Jumagund area near the LoC in the north Kashmir district.

Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, said on Twitter, “Five (05) foreign #terrorists killed in #encounter. Search in the area is going on”.

However, their identification and affiliation remains ascertained. 

Meanwhile, ADGP Kashmir said that the group was affiliated to JKGF (JK Ghaznavi Force) which has Rafiq Nai and Shamsher Nai @ Zafar Iqbal, both residents of Poonch and presently settled in Pakistan Controlled Kashmir.

As per ADGP, they work as handlers and Murtaza Pathan @ Ghaznvi, R/O Faislabad, Pakistan, an Afgan veteran affiliated with Deoband school of thought as operational commander.
