Srinagar: A massive fire broke out at five residential houses and a multi-storey shopping complex near Kashmir University in the Hazratbal area of Srinagar on Monday.
An official said that soon after the incident fire tenders reached the spot to douse off the flames.
"The fire fighting operation is on and the fire has been contained from spreading further", he said.
There were, however, no reports of any injury in the incident.
The official said five residential houses and a shopping complex were involved in the blaze, while damage will be assessed later.
