Srinagar: At least six houses were damaged in an overnight blaze at Kunrache locality in Dalgate area of Srinagar.
As per reports, the fire broke out in a residential house and started spreading to structures in proximity during the night.
They said that the residences of Mudasir Ahmad Matta, Ghulam Qadir Matta, Ghulam Mohammad Matta, Zahoor Ahmad Dar, Ghulam Ahmad and Tabasum Mehnaz daughter of Mohammad Saleem were gutted in this overnight blaze.
An official said that at least six residential houses suffered damage in the fire incident and out of them some houses received partial damage.
“The timely action prevented the fire from spreading further in the congested locality, he said, adding that there was no loss of life or injury in the incident.
A police official said that the cause of the fire is being investigated.
