Kupwara: J&K’s DGP, RR Swain on Monday said that the war against drugs wouldn’t achieve victory unless and until locals ensure full- cooperation with the police.

DGP, Swain while addressing the media persons in the public durbar in North Kashmir’s Kupwara, said without public cooperation it is not easy to win this fight and tackle those masterminds who are involved in this trade.

“We understand how important public cooperation is and I always convey my officers to behave responsibly with the public so they will cooperate with us in every situation,” he added.

“Now with the intervention of locals it gets easy for the police to differentiate between those who are the masterminds and ground supporters of this trade,” he eventually said.

Public durbar is a weekly meeting organized by DGP of J&K Police at multiple stations  in order to address the local grievances.
