Srinagar: An encounter (military operation) has started between militants and government forces in Turkwagam area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Thursday night.
As per the sources two to three militants are believed to be trapped.
A joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Turkwagam, as per reports and led to the encounter.
The exchange of firing between militants and forces was going on when this report was filed.
