Srinagar: An encounter (military operation) broke out between militants and government forces in the Mishipora area of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Tuesday.
As per reports, a joint team of police and army launched a cordon and search operation in Mishipora.
The joint team of forces approached the suspected spot and the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight.
A senior police officer also confirmed the exchange of firing between militants and forces.
