Shopian: An encounter (military operation against militants) started at Wathoo Shirmal village in south Kashmir’s Shopian district, officials said on Wednesday.
"Encounter has started at Watho area of Shopian. Police and security forces are on the job," Kashmir Police Zone tweeted.
The operation was launched by a joint team of police, Army, and CRPF after receiving intelligence inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
