Srinagar: An encounter (military operation) rages against militants by government forces in Srihama Srigufwara area of Bijbhera, south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on the Sahoor of Saturday.
"A joint team of Police and army’s 03RR launched a cordon and search operation in Srihama Srigufwara,’ local news agency GNS Quoted reports.
"As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight."
A senior police officer has confirmed about the exchange of firing between militants and forces.
Meanwhile Internet has been snapped in some parts of Anantnag for precautionary measures, police said.
Pertinently, its the seventh day of the holy month of Ramadan.
