Srinagar: An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.0 jolted Pir Panchal region’s Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday.
As per reports, the tremor struck at 14:03:54 pm local time with its epicentre located in Ramban.
The earthquake was shallow as it occurred at a depth of 5km.
This is the seventh earthquake being reported in J&K. Earlier, six back-to-back earthquakes hit Chenab Valley.
The National Center for Seismology (NCS) provided the primary data regarding this seismic event.
According to their information, the nearby cities and towns affected by the earthquake include Ramban, located 9km to the north-northwest; Doda, approximately 38km to the west-northwest; Kulgam, situated 40km to the south-southeast; Udhampur, located 43km to the north; Anantnag, positioned 47km to the south; Jammu, situated 71km to the north-northeast; and Srinagar, approximately 93km to the south-southeast.
