Earthquake: Doda’s Gandoh Hospital Develop Cracks

Srinagar: A Sub-district hospital in Doda’s Gandoh Bhalessa area developed cracks after an earthquake jolted Kashmir on Tuesday afternoon, official sources said.

News agency GNS quoted an official saying that the SDH building developed large cracks in the aftermath of the earthquake, causing panic among the patients and attendants at the health facility.

“However no injury or any other untoward was reported”, he said.

“There is every apprehension the tremors may have caused damage to other structures as well in the district, however no reliable reports are available as of now”, he further said.

Deputy Commissioner Doda Vishesh Paul Mahajan also confirmed about the cracks being developed at SDH Gundoh.

“Fortunately every other thing is normal as of now”, the district officer said.

“We still have constituted teams to see if there is any other damage caused anywhere in the district”, he further said.

Notably, a 5.4 magnitude earthquake, with epicenter, Doda jolted Jammu and Kashmir.
