Director General Prisons, Jammu And Kashmir, Hemant Kumar Lohia has been found dead under a mysterious situation at a private residence in Udheywala, Jammu, and police suggested suspected murder.
"Preliminary information suggests slit and burn injuries on the body. Prima facie appears to be a suspected murder and the police are investigating antecedents of the absconding servant with the officer."
"A search for him and investigation has started; senior officers, forensic teams, and crime teams are on spot," said ADGP Jammu.
"J&K police family expresses grief and deep sorrow over the death of their senior officer," he added.
The deceased was an IPS (Indian Police Service) Officer and was recently posted on the DG Prisons post in August.
