Srinagar: As part of Azadi Ka Amruth Mahotsav, the Department of Public Health/ Community Dentistry, Government Dental College and Hospital Srinagar observed World Health Day-2023 by organizing two-day heath awareness camps at Voluntary Medicare Society, Shafaqat Centre, Bemina, Srinagar.
The program was initiated by Professor Dr Riyaz Farooq, Principal and Dean Government Dental College and Hospital Srinagar, as per the statement issued by the hospital.
The team was headed by Dr Aasim Farooq Shah and 15 more specialists including Dental surgeons, Dental hygienists and auxiliary staff attended the camp. Around 75 children and 15 persons were screened and given comprehensive treatment, it said.
“Many treatments were performed on spot at Shafaqat Centre using portable dental units. Scaling, Dental Fillings and fluoride pit and fissure application, and medicine, Toothpastes were also given free of cost.
The medical superintendent of Government Dental College and Hospital Srinagar Professor Dr Shabir Ahmed Shah provided all the logistic support and praised the team.
