DDC Re-Polls: Drugmulla, Hajin Records 43% Voter Turnout

Srinagar: Around 43 % voting was recorded in the two District Development Consistencies which went for re-polls in north Kashmir’s Drugmulla and Hajin on Monday.  

As per available details, 53.33 percent voter turnout was recorded in Hajin –A Constituency in Bandipora District whereas 32.73 % was recorded in the Drugmulla Constituency of Kupwara District. 
 
At least 42 polling stations were set up for DDC Drugmulla which recorded a percentage of 32.73. 10724 votes were polled against a total electorate of 16026. 5624 Males a 100 females exercised their franchise. 141 Migrant votes were also cast at Special polling Stations for Kashmiri Migrants set up at GMS Jagti, GGH Patta Bohri, and G, MS Model Higher Secondary school Udhampur. 
 
Similarly in Hajin-A, 53.33 % voting was recorded in 57 polling Stations.   869 Electors out of the total 16313 of cast their votes. 4717 Males out of 8565 and 3982 females out of 7748 cast their votes.
 
The Voting started at around 7. A.M. in the morning and concluded at 2. P.M. in the afternoon. 
 
The exercise was conducted peacefully and the counting for both Constituencies will be concluded on 8th December.
 
Notably, polling in both these constituencies was held along with others during the DDC elections in 2020.
 
However, the counting of votes was withheld after it was detected that some contesting candidates had entered the wrong information in Form-6. Later, polling in both constituencies was declared void.
