Srinagar: Members of the District Development Council (DDC) Srinagar have initiated a no-confidence motion against the current chairperson of the council.
According to reports, a minimum of 10 members have filed the no-confidence motion against Chairperson Aftab Malik, who is affiliated with the Apni Party.
Notably, the development comes just days after the Jammu and Kashmir administration amended the Jammu and Kashmir Panchayati Raj Rules, 1996, to define the rules for the removal of the Chairpersons and Vice Chairpersons of the District Development Council (DDC) members.
