Srinagar: Day temperatures rose at multiple places across Jammu and Kashmir, with the meteorological department predicting light rains tomorrow, 19 May.
According to details shared by the MeT, Srinagar, the Kashmir capital, recorded 29.4 degrees Celsius.
In south Kashmir, the day temperature in Qazigund, the gateway to the Kashmir valley, settled at 29.2 degrees Celsius, while Pahalgam, a famous tourist destination, recorded a maximum temperature of 24.6 degrees Celsius.
Kupwara and Kokernag stations recorded maximum temperatures of 28.2 degrees Celsius and 28.3 degrees Celsius respectively.
Gulmarg, a famous ski resort, logged 19.6 degrees Celsius.
In Pir Panchal’s Banihal, the mercury settled at 30.4 degrees Celsius, while Chenab valley’s Bharderwah logged 31.8 degrees Celsius.
Meanwhile, Jammu city recorded 41.6 degrees Celsius, and Katra recorded 37.7 degrees Celsius.
Director of the Meteorological Department (MeT), Mukhtar Ahmad, said that generally cloudy weather is expected with the possibility of light rain and thunder at scattered places toward early morning tomorrow.
He added that the weather would remain generally dry from May 20 to May 27, and there is no forecast of any significant weather activity until May 27.
