Srinagar: The University of Kashmir (KU) said that the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) examination center issue will get ‘resolved’ soon after scores of students protested against placing examination centers outside Jammu and Kashmir.
Vice-Chancellor of the varsity, Prof Nilofer Khan said that it has taken up the CUET examination center issue with the National Testing Agency (NTA) and Higher Education Department.
“We have taken up the matter with NTA, Higher Education Department, and the JK administration. Most likely it will get resolved on Friday as both the stakeholders have given us a positive response,” Khan said.
She further said that the Higher Education Department has also informed us that it has already taken up the matter with NTA and most likely, it will get resolved on Friday.
Pertinently, hundreds of aspirants of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) have expressed antipathy against the NTA for designating their examination centers outside Jammu and Kashmir contrary to their preferred venues.
The aspirants said that their preferred examination centers for the entrance test were changed from Jammu and Kashmir to other states by the examination conducting agency NTA.
Earlier, several NET aspirants of the previous session alleged that they could not appear in the entrance test—blaming the examination conducting agency for changing their preferred venues from Jammu and Kashmir to other states.
