Baramulla: A policeman was shot dead by unidentified militants in the Tangmarg area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday evening, Police said.
An official identified the cop as Ghulam Mohammed Dar, a resident of Wailoo village.
He was shot near his residence, the official said, adding “he was taken to a nearby health facility, where doctors pronounced him dead.”
The area has been cordoned off and searches have been launched.
BMO Tangmarg confirmed that a cop with bullet marks was brought dead to the hospital.
This is the second attack by suspected militants in 48 hours; earlier, another cop was shot dead in Eidgah area of Srinagar.
