Srinagar: A Policeman who was shot at and injured by militants in Gudaroo area of Pulwama succumbed to his wounds at an army hospital, officials said on Friday.
A senior police officer said militants fired upon constable Riyaz Ahmad Thoker at his residence in Gudoora area this morning.
He was subsequently shifted to DH (district hospital) Pulwama and referred to 92Base army hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The police officer said that a case has been already registered and investigation are underway.
He said that soon after the attack, the entire area was cordoned off.
