Srinagar: J&K Police on Sunday said that a cop ended his life by shooting himself dead with his service rifle in Rajbagh area of Srinagar city.
An official said that a policeman of IRP 10th Battalion identified as Abdul Hamid, son of Ali Mohammad Dar, and a resident of Alapora Budgam ended his life by shooting himself at a Hotel in Srinagar’s Rajbagh area.
He was immediately shifted to SMHS (Shri Maharaja Hari Singh) hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Meanwhile police have taken cognizance of the incident and investigation has been set into motion.
