Bandipora, Feb 25 — Massive cracks have developed on a road running parallel to the Jhelum River in Hajin town, Bandipora, triggering fear among locals.
Residents said the cracks had been forming for several days, but the damage worsened on Tuesday with fresh fissures.
They warned that if the situation deteriorates, it could lead to a major disaster, as the road runs alongside the river.
Urging immediate intervention, locals called on authorities to prevent further damage.
An official confirmed that a team has been dispatched to assess the situation, assuring that necessary measures will be taken.
Meanwhile, public movement near the affected area will be restricted.
