Ganderbal: The Srinagar-Ladakh highway was closed for traffic after fresh avalanche hit Zojila Pass on Tuesday central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district.
An official said that avalanches hit near Panimatha and Kai-Pathri areas at Zojila Pass following fresh snowfall in the area.
He said that men and machinery have been pressed into service to clear the road.
However, the highway has been closed till further orders.
"Due to snowfall and avalanches at various places on Zojila axis, upward traffic was not allowed today," he said.
