Pir Panjal: Government forces have launched a massive search operation in the Nar forests of the Mendhar area in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district on Thursday, officials said.
Several days back, an operation was launched by the army on the apprehensions of militant presence in the dense forest area, they said.
"The army fired some 15 rounds of speculative gunshots in Bhatadurian forests, however, the firing didn’t meet with any response", they said.
"As a precautionary measure, the vehicular traffic on the highway between Bhimber Gali and Jaranwali Gali has been suspended till further orders", they added.
A police official also confirmed the ongoing search operation and suspension of vehicular traffic thereof.
