Srinagar, Sep 3: The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), in coordination with the Crime Branch, conducted searches at courier facilities across central Kashmirโ€™s Budgam district on Wednesday, officials said.

The teams carried out searches at several courier facilities, including E-Falcon Logistics in Humhama, with sniffer dogs deployed during the operation.

A senior official said the searches were part of efforts to prevent courier services from being misused for transporting contraband.

โ€œSuch drives will continue in future to check misuse of courier services for smuggling of contraband,โ€ the official said.

The searches come against the backdrop of a recent incident in which cocaine was recovered from a courier service in Ganderbal, according to officials.

Further details about the Budgam searches, including whether any contraband was recovered or anyone was detained, were not immediately available.
