Srinagar: The persistent dry spell in Chillai Kalan (the harshest winter period) continued across Kashmir on Wednesday, with south Kashmir’s Anantnag district being the coldest in the valley.
According to the Meteorological Department (MeT), Srinagar, the capital of Kashmir, recorded a temperature of -4.8°C, Ganderbal -4.5°C, and Budgam -5.0°C.
In South Kashmir, Qazigund, the gateway town to the valley, registered -4.6°C, Pahalgam -6.6°C, Kokernag -3.2°C, Kulgam -3.0°C, and Shopian -7.0°C. Additionally, Pulwama recorded -6.6°C, and Anantnag was the coldest at -7.2°C.
In North Kashmir, Kupwara reported -5.3°C, Gulmarg -3.8°C, Bandipora -5.5°C, and Baramulla -6.0°C.
