Srinagar: Militants in Shopian’s Haripora encounter (military operation) have managed to escape ater brief exchange of fire, officials said on Thursday morning.
Earlier, on Wednesday night around 11PM, an encounter raged between government forces and militants in Haripora Imamsahib area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
After initial exchange of fire, no contact was established with the militants, an official said.
Cordon layers were tightened after initial exchange of fire, however, nothing has been found following which operation has been called off, he added.
