Srinagar: A Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militant, active since 2017 was arrested during Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in Kokernag area of Anantnag on Thursday.
During CASO (Cardon & search operation) HM Militant identified as Mohammad Ishaq Shergojri, son of Abdul Ahad Shergojri, resident of Nowgam, Verinag who was active since September 15, 2017 was apprehended and arrested, an official said.
He was associated with Hizb-ul-Mujahideen and active since 2017, he said.
On specific input about the presence of militants, a joint team of forces had launched CASO in Tengpawa-Sagam area of Kokernag on Thursday, he added.
He further said the investigation into the matter is on.
