Srinagar: Police on Friday arrested an active Lashker-e-Toiba militant identified as Kamran Bashir in Mujhmarg Junction area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
The police said on a specific input about the movement of militant planning an attack on security forces, a joint naka by Shopian police, 01 RR and CRPF BN 178 was established in mujhmarg junction.
According to police spokesperson, one live Handgrenade and 29 live round of calibre 7.62 mm were recovered from his possession.
The apprehended suspect disclosed his name as Kamran Bashir Hajam son of Bashir ahmed Hajam resident of Babapora an active militant of LeT.
Accordingly FIR no 117/2021 lodged under relevant sections of law registered at Police Station Zainapora . Further questioning going on, reads the statement.
