Anantnag, Aug 22: A 65-year-old woman was injured after being attacked by a bear in Achabal area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday, officials said.

The incident took place in Darpora Khundoora village, where the woman, identified as Mubeena Banoo, wife of late Mohammad Maqbool Mantoo, came under attack.

An official said Banoo sustained injuries in the incident and was subsequently shifted to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag for treatment.

The official identified the injured woman as a resident of Darpora village.

“The woman was injured in the bear attack and was shifted to GMC Anantnag for treatment,” the official said.
