ACB Arrests Panzgam Sarpanch Over Bribe

Srinagar: ACB Anti-Corruption Bureau arrested Gulam Mohammad Dar, a Sarpanch at Halqa area in Panzgam, south Kashmirโ€™s Awantipora for demanding and accepting a bribe of โ‚น5,000 rupees.ย 

In a statement, the Anti Corruption Bureau received a complaint against Gulam Mohammad Dar, son of Asadullah Dar, resident of Panzgam, Awantipora, Pulwama, Sarpanch, Halqa Panzgam, Awantipora, for demanding a bribe of โ‚น5,000 for passing and signing of Labour Muster Roll of Labours engaged under โ€œMGNREGAโ€ Scheme by the concerned Contractor (complainant).

A case has been registered with FIR No. 17/2022 at Police Station ACB, South Kashmir and an investigation has been started, the statement added.ย

After the registration of the case, a trap team was constituted. The team caught the accused red-handed while accepting a bribe of โ‚น 5,000, it said.ย

He was arrested on the spot after completing necessary legal formalities, the statement further said.ย
