Kulgam: Two labourers died while two were rescued after slipping and falling into a trench in the Chakpora area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Friday, officials said.
The deceased have been identified as Maqbool Dar, a resident of Kulgam, and Aziz ur Rehman, a resident of Bengal.
An official said that they were working in the trench when they suddenly slipped and fell into it.
'Soon after the incident, police and locals rushed to the spot and rescued them,' he said.
Medical Superintendent Gulzar Ahmad Dar of District Hospital Kulgam informed that two persons were pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital, with one currently receiving treatment and another already discharged.
