Bhaderwah, January 2, 2025: Three young men were discovered dead in a hotel room in Bhaderwah, located in Doda district of the Chenab region, officials said Thursday.
The deceased have been identified as Mukesh Singh, son of Kuldeep Singh, from Domana in Jammu; Ashutosh Singh Rana, son of Daleep Singh Rana, from Bhela, Doda, currently residing in Purkhoo, Jammu; and Sunny Choudhary.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Doda, Sandeep Mehta, stated that initial findings indicate a possible case of "asphyxiation."
Providing details, the SSP said the police received a call from the brother of one of the deceased, reporting no response to repeated phone calls. The phone's location was subsequently traced, and a team was dispatched to investigate. During the probe, the vehicle used by the deceased was tracked to Bhaderwah.
Further investigation revealed that the three had booked a room at the Royal Inn Guest House. When repeated knocks went unanswered, the door was forcibly opened, revealing two individuals lying unconscious on the bed and another in the washroom.
Medical and forensic teams were called to the scene, but all three were declared dead by doctors.
Preliminary findings suggest asphyxiation, as a charcoal heater was found in the room. However, SSP Mehta added that forensic reports are awaited, and further investigations are ongoing.
