Srinagar, Jan 6 — Punjab Police have arrested a 15-year-old boy for allegedly sharing information related to national security with Pakistani terror agencies, including the ISI and Pakistan military officers, officials said on Monday.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Pathankot, Daljinder Singh Dhillon, said the accused is a juvenile and his identity cannot be disclosed. “We cannot disclose his identity as he is a juvenile. The accused belongs to Samba district,” he told The Himalayan Post.
According to the police, the minor had allegedly been in contact with Pakistani agencies for nearly a year. “The police have arrested a 15-year-old after receiving information that he had been supplying sensitive information related to the security of our nation to frontal organisations of terror agencies, the ISI, and Pakistan military officers,” SSP Dhillon said.
Officials said the teenager allegedly shared videos of sensitive locations and was also in contact with gangsters based in Pakistan who were running a terror module. “He was sharing videos of sensitive places and was in touch with gangsters operating from across the border,” a police officer said.
Police said the boy was allegedly lured through social media. “He fell into the trap of Pakistani agencies through social media. He was mentally disturbed as he suspected that his father had been murdered, which affected his mental state,” the SSP said.
Further investigation is underway to ascertain the extent of information shared and to identify other possible links, police said.
